I am responsible for your general medical problems. For this purpose, our family practice is open to all patients, whether your insurance is private or GKV (such as TK, AOK, BKK, IKK etc.). Dr. Spahn has been specialized in the field of blood and cancer diseases for many years and is happy to advise you in this field as a private patient.
His core competence lies is field of integrative medicine, which means that selected and scientifically founded natural healing procedures are integrated into your anti-cancer treatment.

What can you expect in our practice for integrative medicine?
As an internist, I prescribe drug therapy in a large number of illnesses - from asthma spray to cytostatics. However, what makes my approach special is the fact that I have also been doing naturopathic research and therapy for many years.
Thus, other therapeutic elements in the treatment are added to your conventional treatment, i.e. classical naturopathy, acupuncture, anthroposophical medicine, sports therapy, yoga, meditation, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and nutritional and microbiome therapy.
Thereby, the forms of therapy are coordinated and adapted to the severity of the disease. An organism that has very good self-healing powers does not need to be treated with antibiotics in the event of an infection. If a person's immune system is weakened by illness or medication, it looks different again with a bacterial infection.
TRIMED = the connection of conventional and complementary medicine
The therapy forms are adjusted to each other and adapted to the severity of the disease. This personalized combination of so-called "school medicine" and complementary medicine is an individual integrative therapy. Considering your own ideas and concerns in your therapy is a very important point in my treatment approach.
My Vita
After studying medicine in Tübingen, London and Basel, I worked in clinical medicine, basic and clinical research and university education from 1994 to 2013, including many years as a research assistant at Charité Berlin and as an internal physician at the university hospital for Integrative Medicine in Essen.
From 2005 to 2013 I was appointed senior or chief physician at hospital centers of excellence (Zurich, Öschelbronn) caring for patients with complex severe illnesses in the field of cancer, rheumatology, heart, liver and kidney disease, gastroenterology, endocrinology and neurological diseases.
I hold since then several teaching posts in the field of Integrative and Internal Medicine in Zurich and Würzburg and I organize international medical symposia in various fields. My M.D. thesis was in the field of virology, immunology and vaccine research at the WHO measles research laboratory in Luxembourg and I did further research in the field of immunology at Max-Delbrück Center Berlin and Charité Berlin. In 2017 and 2018 I was appointed by the German FOCUS magazine as an excellent physician in the field of oncology.
I am happy to serve you at Trimed Mainz at Helix Medical Excellence Center for general health problems as well as in complex issues like cancer or rare diseases.
